Bruichladdich Octomore 13.1 is a five year old Islay single malt from the thirteenth Octomore series. The barley, 100% Scottish Concerto from the 2015 harvest, was malted to 137.3 PPM and distilled in 2016. It matured on Islay in first fill American oak casks and is bottled at 118.4 proof (59.2%), non-chill filtered and with no added colour.
The nose is sweet, nutty smoke and barley sugar with apricot, pear, vanilla, crème brûlée, coconut and charred oak. The palate is thick and viscous, with toffee, vanilla and ripe orchard fruit under layers of peat. The finish is long and earthy, with mossy, heathery smoke, a salty citrus edge and a delicate floral lift.
