Bruichladdich Octomore 13.2 is a heavily peated Islay single malt, the Oloroso cask release of the thirteenth Octomore series. The barley was Concerto grown on the Scottish mainland, harvested in 2015, malted to 137.3 PPM and distilled in 2016.
It matured for its full five years in first fill Oloroso sherry butts from Fernando de Castilla in Jerez, in dunnage warehouses at Port Charlotte. It is bottled at 58.3% (116.6 proof) in 750ml, non chill filtered and with no added colour, and carries the signature of Adam Hannett.
The nose is nutty, salty smoke with milk chocolate, leathery tobacco and syrupy orange. The palate is dense, with smoked nuts, dates, figs, marmalade and dark chocolate. The finish is long, with earthy peat smoke and a salty sea tang.
