Octomore 15.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, distilled in 2018 and aged for five years. It is made from 100% Scottish mainland Concerto barley.
The nose combines caramel and citrus with dry, earthy peat smoke, followed by aniseed, vanilla, custard and hints of tropical fruit, geranium and ginger. On the palate, early heat gives way to sweet dry malt and bold peat, with mango, banana and apricot jam, then creamy vanilla custard and toffee. The finish is long, with smoke, vanilla and charred sweet oak, ending in a crisp marine note.
