Bruichladdich Octomore 15.2 is a five-year-old single malt from Islay, distilled in 2018 from Scottish-grown concerto barley of the 2017 harvest. The spirit is very heavily peated, at 108.2 PPM.
It was matured in second-fill wine and bourbon casks, then finished in first-fill cognac casks.
The nose offers lemon meringue pie, lime zest and subtle earthy smoke. On the palate come vanilla custard, smoked honey, charred oak and toasted bread, with tropical fruit, dried apricot and pear drops set against nutmeg, black pepper and roasted coffee. The finish is maritime, with salt spray and lingering peat embers.
