Octomore 16.1 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, distilled in 2019 from 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley malted to 101.4 PPM.
It matured for five years exclusively in first-fill bourbon barrels and was bottled at cask strength, 59.3% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colouring.
The nose offers salted caramel, honeyed melon and apricot, with chocolate, coconut and a soft earthy minerality. On the palate the smoke is prominent but balanced against fruity malt sweetness and savoury earth. The finish is long, with smoky embers and mineral depth.
