Octomore 16.2 is a super-heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at a cask strength of 58.1% ABV. Its peat level is measured at 101.4 PPM.
The whisky was matured in Oloroso and Bordeaux casks, then finished in Madeira and Portuguese Moscatel casks.
The nose combines soft dried fruits, sunbaked tropical fruits and sweet campfire smoke, with honeysuckle, orange blossom, toasted oak and roasted nuts. The palate is rich and sweet, with caramelised sugar, fudge, crème brûlée, candied peel and warming spices. The finish is long, sweet and smoky, with sea salt and wood spices.
