Bruichladdich – Octomore 16.2 (70cl)

Octomore 16.2 is a heavily peated single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay. It was made from 100 per cent Scottish Mainland Concerto barley malted to 101.4 PPM and distilled in 2019. The whisky was matured in Oloroso and Bordeaux casks, then finished for a year in Madeira and Moscatel casks. The nose brings dried fruits, tropical notes, delicate florals, toasted oak and soft sea-salted smoke. On the palate come caramelised sugar, roasted nuts, dried fruits and candied peel, with warming spice and earthy peat behind. The finish is long, with sweet smoke, a maritime freshness and wood spice.
