Bruichladdich Organic Barley 2012 is a single malt made from 100% organically grown Scottish barley, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2012 and matured in American oak.
The whisky is unpeated, so the sweetness of the grain sits at the front.
The nose brings dried hay, malty biscuit and barley straw, with creme brulee, coconut, vanilla and butterscotch from the oak, plus floral notes and soft apricot and pear. The palate offers heather honey, warm scones and marzipan, with peppery spice and creamy malt over vanilla, coconut and sweet oak. The finish is long, with almond, butterscotch and malty richness.
