Port Charlotte 10 Year Old is the peated side of Bruichladdich on Islay, made with a phenol level of around 40ppm and only Scottish barley. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
The whisky was matured in 75% ex-bourbon casks and 25% French wine casks.
The nose is smoky with a coastal, maritime edge, plus thyme, nutmeg, caramel and vanilla cream. The palate is smoky but soft and round, with malty sweetness, mango and a little coconut. The long finish stays smoky, with apple, apricot and fudge.
