Bruichladdich – Port Charlotte 10 Year Old Scottish Barley (70cl)

A peated single malt from Bruichladdich, aged for ten years and distilled, matured and bottled entirely on Islay. It is made from 100% Scottish barley and distilled in tall, narrow-necked stills. The whisky was matured by the salt-laden air of Loch Indaal, which gives it a coastal character alongside its smoke. The nose opens with dry, earthy smoke and sea freshness, with caramel, vanilla custard, fudge and warm spice. Water brings out clementine, lemon meringue, thyme and heather. The palate has silky smoke, coconut, lemon honey and smoked oysters. The finish is long and smoky, with fudge, banoffee pie, apricot, mango and oak spice.
