Port Charlotte 10 Year Old is the heavily peated single malt from Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay, bottled at 50% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, and the peating is given as roughly 40ppm phenols.
The whisky spent ten years in first-fill American oak and ex-wine casks, which bring citrus, vanilla and stone fruit alongside the peat. It is produced entirely on the island, from start to bottling.
The nose is medicinal peat, sea salt, citrus zest, vanilla and smoked lemon curd. The palate offers dry peat smoke, salted caramel, stone fruit and a mineral, maritime backbone. The finish is long and smoky, with sea salt, citrus peel and a lasting peated warmth.
