Bruichladdich – Port Charlotte Islay Barley (75cl, 50%)

Port Charlotte Islay Barley is a heavily peated single malt from Bruichladdich, made entirely with barley grown on Islay. It comes in a 750ml bottle at 50% ABV. Each release is vintage-dated, naming the harvest year and the farms that grew the barley. The peating level is approximately 40ppm phenols. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose is coastal and earthy, with heavy peat smoke, sea salt, barley cereal and orchard fruit beneath. On the palate come dry peat, maritime mineral notes, earthy barley sweetness and stone fruit. The finish is long and smoky, with lingering coastal salt and peated warmth.
