Port Charlotte PMC:01 is a 9 year old peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, and the sixth release in a cask-led series. It comes in a 70cl bottle at cask strength.
The spirit was distilled from peated barley and matured in Pomerol wine casks.
The nose shows ripe plums and pears over warming smoke, with red berries and dried petals from the Pomerol cask. The palate keeps peat at its core, supported by earthy and sea-salt notes. The finish is full-bodied and smoky-sweet, with rich caramelised tones, oak and a touch of spice.
