The Laddie Eight is an unpeated 8 year old single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle. It is the distillery's first eight year old and a travel retail exclusive released by head distiller Adam Hannett. The new make is made by trickle distillation.
The colour is lemon marmalade. The nose opens with apple, pear, pear drops, apricot and pineapple, with vanilla oak, barley sugar and straw, then gorse and honeysuckle. The palate moves from pepper and spice to mango, peach, vanilla, honey and toffee, with a creamy, buttery texture. The finish brings sea breeze, heather honey and citrus, ending on long-lasting vanilla.
