Bruichladdich – The Organic 2011 (70cl, 50%)

Bruichladdich The Organic 2011 is a single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 50% vol. It is part of the distillery's Barley Provenance series. It is made from 100% organic barley grown at Mid Coul Farm in Inverness, without pesticides or artificial fertilisers. The Biodynamic Association certifies the whole process, from harvest to bottling. Distillation is slow, in the distillery's narrow-necked stills. The nose combines creme brulee, melon, stone fruit and lemon zest, with honey, barley sugar and soft florals. The palate is viscous and honeyed, with pear, vanilla fudge and a salty sea breeze. The finish is soft, with golden syrup, nutmeg, pepper and tropical fruit.
