This is a 26 year old single grain whisky from Cameron Bridge in the Lowlands, released as a Special Release in 2022. It was matured in refill casks and bottled at a natural cask strength of 56.2% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
Its character is sweet and smooth at first, with a peppery, spicy finish that comes as a surprise. Medium in body, it is a gleaming gold with amber lights.
The nose offers mango, papaya and peapods with hard toffee and a little oak, while the palate brings butterscotch and caramel with a drying, oaky spice. The finish is short and warming, with chilli.
