This is a 26 year old single grain Scotch whisky from Cameronbridge, a 2022 Special Release bottled at 56.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Long years in cask have only lightly shaped its rich, sweet character, and the finish carries a peppery spice.
The colour is gold with amber lights. The nose shows mango, papaya and peapods, with hard toffee and oak shavings. Water brings cinnamon bun and salted toffee. The palate is silky, with butterscotch turning to caramel toffee and a spicy, oaky edge. The finish is short and intense, with chilli warmth.
