Caribou Crossing Single Barrel Canadian Whisky (75cl, 40%)

Caribou Crossing is a single barrel Canadian whisky, unusual in a style where whiskies from many barrels are normally blended together. Barrels are hand selected and each is bottled on its own, so the character varies from cask to cask while the strength stays at 40% ABV (80 proof). It comes in a 750ml bottle. The bottle is a heavy squared decanter finished with blue wax and a gilded caribou stopper. Warm amber in colour, it has honey, vanilla and light caramel on the nose over gentle oak and a hint of orchard fruit. The palate is smooth and rounded, with butterscotch, baked apple and soft baking spice, and the finish is clean, mellow and lightly sweet.
