Chichibu Ichiro's Malt Double Distilleries 2021 Chichibu x Komagatake (70cl, 53.5%)

Ichiro's Malt Double Distilleries 2021 is a Japanese blended malt bottled at 53.5% vol. in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a collaboration between the Chichibu and Komagatake distilleries, a project begun in 2015. The two distilleries swapped casks in secret, and the casks then matured in each other's warehouses. The whisky from each environment was blended in its own area, giving two separate 100% Japanese blended malts. This is the Chichibu x Komagatake one. The nose is caramel sweetness with tropical fruit. The palate offers sweet toffee, ripe banana and pineapple, and the finish is salty with a hint of tropical fruit.
