Chicken Cock 20 Years Old Cotton Club Canadian Rye Whiskey

This is a 20-year-old Canadian rye whiskey from the Chicken Cock brand, named for the Cotton Club. The Chicken Cock name goes back to 1856 in Paris, Kentucky, where James A. Miller built a distillery. The whiskey became a fixture of prohibition-era speakeasies such as the Cotton Club, where it was smuggled in nondescript tin cans. After Miller's death, his distillery clerk George G. White carried the brand on. The original distillery burned down in the 1950s, and the brand has since been revived.
