1st fill bourbon barrel
This Clynelish is a 13 year old Highland single malt, distilled in 2011 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society from a single first-fill bourbon barrel. Just 71 bottles were filled, in 70cl size. Its cask code, 26.227, gives the distillery number first and the cask number second. The nose is sweet and fruity: tinned peaches, rosewater, pineapple and banana pie, and lemon verbena dusted with sandalwood shavings. The palate is thick and oily, with tropical clotted cream, exotic gelato, a splash of white vermouth and strawberry bonbons in chai tea. With water come grape, gooseberries, almond crumble and quince in yoghurt, ending on a jammy oat scone.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
