Crown Royal Reserve is a blended Canadian whisky from The Crown Royal Company, with Master Whisky Blender Andrew MacKay choosing the barrels. The blend draws on roughly 50 selected Canadian whiskies, matured in oak and bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The brand was created in 1939 by Sam Bronfman of the House of Seagram, to honour the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada. The whisky pours a warm golden amber.
The nose is apple, soft floral tones, caramel, vanilla and gentle oak. The palate is velvety and mellow, with creamy toffee, oak, baking spice, clove, cinnamon, subtle dried fruit and rye top notes. The finish is long and warm, with gentle sweetness.
