Crown Royal XR Extra Rare Waterloo Edition is a blended Canadian whisky at 40% ABV, in a 750ml bottle. It is made with a batch of whisky from the closed Waterloo Distillery in Ontario, and no age statement is given.
It comes in a crystal-clear embossed Crown Royal decanter with a diamond-cut stopper. The colour is a warm amber with golden copper tones.
The nose is caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and dried stone fruits, with a gentle floral sweetness. On the palate there is toffee, ripe orchard fruit, cinnamon, brown sugar and oak. The finish is long and warm, with vanilla, dried fruit and a soft oak sweetness.
