Dalmore 25 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the Dalmore Distillery, bottled at 42%. It begins in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then is divided between Palomino Fino sherry butts and first-fill bourbon barrels. The two parts are married in bourbon barrels and finished in Tawny Port pipes from Portugal.
The colour is deep amber with copper highlights. The nose brings citrus, marzipan, vanilla pods, treacle toffee and fig cake, with a touch of sweet balsamic. The palate is silky and full-bodied, with orange peel, chocolate truffles, liquorice, damsons and sherry-soaked raisins. The finish is long and warm, with maple syrup, dark chocolate and spiced gingerbread.
