Eau Claire Rupert's Exceptional Whisky (40%)

Eau Claire Rupert's Exceptional Whisky is a Canadian blend from Eau Claire Distillery in Turner Valley, Alberta. About 20% is Eau Claire single malt, mixed with 80% Alberta base whisky. It is non-chill filtered, has no artificial caramel colouring and is bottled at 40%. The name comes from Rupert's Land, the historical territory that took in the distillery's part of southern Alberta. The nose is sweet and spicy, with vanilla, toffee, butterscotch and oak spices, plus candied apricot, orange peel and almond. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with honey, dried fruit and toasted grain, then chocolate, nutmeg and candied citrus peel. The finish is warm and clean, with oak, caramel, malt and a slightly nutty note.
