Glen Breton Rare 21 Year Old is a Canadian single malt from Glenora Inn & Distillery in Glenville, on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Bruce Jardine founded the distillery in 1990 with the aim of making North America's first single malt in the Scottish tradition, using water from MacLellan's Brook.
The whisky was matured in American oak barrels and has a light gold colour.
The nose is layered, with vanilla, honeycomb, baked apple, apricot, soft citrus and a light floral touch. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with toffee, butterscotch, wild apples, toasted oak, leather, hay and a hint of maple. Barley flavour comes through clearly alongside the barrel character.
