A 15 year old single malt from the Glen Scotia distillery in Campbeltown, bottled at 46%. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks.
The nose is broad and medium-weight, with citrus peel and ginger biscuits. Apricot develops and drifts towards fruit salad, then the wood comes through, and water brings out baked fruit. The palate starts interwoven and complex, with a surprisingly dry streak. With water, caramelised notes settle in with the oak. The finish is firm and lightly dry.
