Glen Scotia – 8 Year Old Campbeltown Malts Festival Edition 2022 (70cl, 56.5%)

This Glen Scotia is the 2022 Campbeltown Malts Festival edition, an 8 year old heavily peated single malt bottled at 56.5% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2013. The whisky spent seven and a half years in first-fill bourbon casks, then twelve months in first-fill Pedro Ximenez hogsheads. The festival itself is held for a week each May, when Campbeltown's surviving distilleries open their doors to visitors. The nose has sea spray and gentle smoke. The palate offers rich spice and underlying peat, and the finish carries maritime notes.
