Glen Scotia Double Cask is a Campbeltown single malt from a distillery founded in 1832. The whisky is matured in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished for up to 12 months in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
It is bottled at 46% and is non-chill-filtered. The sherry finish adds spice, toffee, fudge and dark sweetness to the maritime, sea-spray character of the distillery.
On the nose it is described as crème caramel, caramelised fruit sugars, toffee and fudge, with apple, peach and a charred bourbon note alongside the sea spray.
