This is the 2025 festival bottling from Glen Scotia of Campbeltown, made for the Campbeltown Malts Festival. The 9 year old was distilled from peated malt at 54.5 ppm and matured in first-fill bourbon casks, then spent six months in casks from Ribera del Duero, a region known for Tempranillo red wine. It is bottled at 54.3% abv, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
The nose starts with vanilla and toffee before peat smoke takes over, with fruity, spicy notes beneath. The palate shows maritime smoke, dark red-wine fruit and a touch of oak. The finish is long, with blackberry, a hint of liquorice and lingering maritime peat.
