Glen Scotia Icons of Campbeltown Release No.2 is a 14 year old Campbeltown single malt, bottled at a cask strength of 56.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is medium peated and was finished for six months in ex-Barolo red wine casks. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The series pays tribute to the Campbeltown community. This release draws on St Michael slaying a fire-breathing dragon, a nod to the fires that destroyed several of the town's distilleries in Victorian times. On 17 December 1899 Glen Scotia and local people fought a blaze at Dalintober distillery and saved it.
It is described as bold, with maritime salinity and smoky peat balanced by the sweetness of candied red fruits, with spice running through.
