Glen Scotia – Victoriana (54.8%)

Victoriana is a single malt from Glen Scotia in Campbeltown, bottled at 54.8% ABV. After maturing in bourbon casks, the whisky was given a further period in heavily charred oak casks, which gives it a strong yet soft balance. Fruit and spice character is typical of Glen Scotia, and comes from the distillery's traditional copper pot stills. The nose is elegant and sweet, with candied red fruit such as cherries and cranberries, caramel, crème brûlée and light smoke. The palate is full and rich, very sweet with dark jam, moving to cloves, exotic spices and oak. The finish is long, spicy and dry, with a trace of dark cocoa at the end.
