GlenDronach – Ode To The Embers (70cl, 48.4%)

GlenDronach Ode To The Embers is a limited release Highland single malt from the Master's Anthology series, inspired by traditional Highland fireside gatherings and the warmth of glowing peat embers. It is bottled at 48.4% without chill filtration. The whisky was matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. It keeps the distillery's weight and dried-fruit richness while adding a gentle, aromatic smokiness that is unusual for GlenDronach, with sweetness and spice from seasoned Spanish oak rather than strong peat. The nose offers dark fruits, toasted sugar and smouldering wood, and the palate is textured and coating, with smoke balanced by sherry.
