Glenfiddich – 12 Year Old (75cl, 40%)

Glenfiddich 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the distillery in Dufftown, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The independent Grant family launched it in 1963, when almost every Scottish distillery sold its spirit to blenders. It is triple-matured: first in ex-bourbon American oak, then in ex-oloroso sherry European oak, and finally in virgin Robur oak. The Robur stage adds subtle spice and structure. The water comes from the Robbie Dhu spring, which the distillery has used since 1887. The nose is fresh pear with floral notes, vanilla cream and soft oak. On the palate are crisp apple, pear and light citrus with creamy malt, and the finish is smooth and medium in length with a touch of sweet grain.
