A 12 year old single malt from Glenfiddich in Dufftown, Speyside, the distillery William Grant founded in 1887 and which remains family owned.
The whisky is matured for 12 years in Oloroso sherry butts and American bourbon casks, then rests in oak marrying tuns so the two influences settle together. It is bottled at 40% (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is fresh pear, light florals, honey and a hint of vanilla. The palate is creamy, with pear, butterscotch, red apple and a gentle sherry sweetness, and the finish is smooth and mellow with lingering fruit and cream.
