Glenfiddich 14 Year Old Bourbon Barrel Reserve is a Speyside single malt from the Dufftown distillery, bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof). Master Malt Distiller Brian Kinsman created it as a nod to the link between Scotch whisky and American bourbon making.
The whisky matured for 14 years in American ex-bourbon oak, then spent a finishing period in deep-charred new American oak barrels from the Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky. The colour is rich golden amber.
The nose is sweet and wood-led, with vanilla, butterscotch, green apple, pear and baking spices. Caramel, vanilla cream and woody spice lead the palate, with pear and candied orange peel. The finish is long and warm, with oak tannins and peppery spice.
