This is the second release of Glenfiddich 16 Year Old made for the Aston Martin Formula One Team, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It celebrates the partnership between Malt Master Brian Kinsman and Adrian Newey of the Aston Martin F1 team. The tube is British Racing Green with yellow-green accents.
The base is whisky matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, combined with port pipes, Oloroso sherry casks and wine casks, then finished in Fino sherry butts.
The nose is described as juicy pears, ripe figs, sweet port, nutty Fino sherry, burnt almond crunch and vanilla. The palate is silky, with wine and berry fruit, raisins, toffee, fresh oak and a hint of exotic spice. The finish is long, with velvety sweetness.
