This is Glenfiddich 21 Year Old Gran Reserva, a 40% single malt in a 70cl bottle, issued as a limited edition for Chinese New Year 2024. The packaging was designed by the artist Raku Inoue and draws on nature and the return of the Wood Dragon, the zodiac animal for 2024.
The whisky was finished in Gran Reserva Caribbean rum casks, hand selected by Malt Master Brian Kinsman, which gives the expression its name.
On the nose it shows tropical fruit, molasses and wood spices. The palate brings rum notes with mango, ginger and chocolate, and the long finish has orange jam, cinnamon and a hint of banana.
