Glenfiddich Grand Cru is a 23-year-old single malt matured in a small number of ex-sherry and American oak casks, then finished for four months in French oak.
The finishing casks are a mix of first-fill and second-fill, previously used to ferment wine that goes on to become a well-known sparkling wine.
The nose offers soft lemon and pink lady apple alongside creaminess, marzipan and honey brioche. The palate is oily and sweet, with honeyed fruit, cream, baked apple tart and a little spice. The finish is dry and short, with hazelnuts, brioche and honeysuckle.
