A Speyside single malt from Glenfiddich, finished for three months in casks that held India Pale Ale. It is the first release in the Glenfiddich Experimental Series, which began in September 2016, and comes in a 750ml bottle at 43% ABV.
Malt Master Brian Kinsman developed it with Seb Jones of the Speyside Craft Brewery. The IPA, made with Challenger hops, was first brewed for four weeks in used Glenfiddich American oak casks. It is non chill-filtered, with no added colour.
The nose offers green apple, pear and spring blossom, with hops, herbs, lychee and citrus peel. The palate is zesty, with citrus, vanilla, banana and a light hop bitterness. The finish is sweet, with an echo of green hops.
