Glenlivet 17 Years Old is a single malt distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2005 at 46%. It was released under the name Whisky Galore, which can be translated as whisky in abundance. The name points to the well-known story of the same title, in which a group of Scottish islanders plundered a shipwreck for its cargo of 24,000 cases of whisky, a tale that has grown into a legend.
