Founders Reserve is a Speyside single malt from The Glenlivet with no age statement, bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle.
It is made by double distillation in lantern-shaped copper pot stills. First-fill American oak casks, which have not held Scotch whisky before, are married with whisky matured in traditional oak.
The nose is orange peel and citrus with creamy vanilla, honey and a trace of burnt sugar. On the palate come orange, pear, toffee apple and a light honeyed spice, and the finish is medium and smooth, with toffee turning to vanilla cream.
