Glenmorangie 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain, Ross-shire, which William Matheson founded in 1843. It comes in a 75cl bottle.
The distillery is known for having the tallest stills in Scotland. In summer 2024 it replaced its 10 year old flagship with a 12 year old Original, which it describes as silkier and more complex. Ex-bourbon American white oak casks are typical for the core 12 year old range.
The nose is creamy, with orange marmalade, honey, vanilla and tinned peaches. The palate is silky and tongue-coating, with vanilla, apricot, dark chocolate and honeysuckle. The finish is medium to long, honeyed and malty, with tropical fruit.
