Hibiki 17 Year Old is a blended Japanese whisky from The House of Suntory, bottled at 43% in a 700ml 24-faceted decanter. Suntory discontinued it in 2018.
It blends more than 30 malt whiskies from Yamazaki and Hakushu with grain whisky from Chita, all aged at least 17 years. Some components matured in used umeshu plum liqueur casks, alongside American oak, sherry and Mizunara oak casks.
The nose is peach, melon, apricot, lemon leaf, plum, stewed apple, cream and orange peel. The palate has cream, banana, a hint of citrus and raspberry, with honeyed stone fruit, soft oak and a trace of smoke. The finish is long and clean, with lingering fruit.
