Hibiki 21 Year Old is a blended Japanese whisky from Suntory, first released in 1989 alongside the Hibiki 17 for the company's 90th anniversary. It is bottled at 43% abv in a 700ml, 24-faceted decanter with a black label and gold lettering.
The blend joins hand-selected malt whiskies from Yamazaki and Hakushu with grain whisky from Chita, all aged for at least 21 years. Casks include Japanese Mizunara oak and sherry casks.
The nose has caramelised nuts, lemon, blackcurrant, pear, vanilla, dark toffee and honey. The palate is smooth and creamy, with dark cherry, caramel, sherry, cacao and leather.
