A 21 year old Hibiki made to mark 100 years of Suntory whisky, in a limited edition in a 70cl bottle.
Instead of the usual cask maturation, Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo used Mizunara oak for this release, as a nod to Japanese heritage.
The nose brings sweet jasmine, kumquat and subtle spice. The palate opens with soft sweet florals, sandalwood and spice, and the finish is long and persistent, with plenty of Mizunara wood character.
