Hibiki 30 Year Old is a Suntory blended whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 43% ABV. It combines malt and grain whiskies from the Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries, each aged for at least 30 years.
The bottle is a 24-faceted decanter, representing the 24 seasons of the Japanese lunar calendar. It carries a gold-panel label with the hand-brushed Hibiki kanji, and each bottle is individually numbered.
The nose offers Mizunara oak, dried rose petals, sandalwood, ripe apricot and dark honey. The palate brings candied orange peel, dark chocolate, toasted oak and dried fig, with a creamy note from the Chita grain whisky. The finish is very long, with sandalwood, dark dried fruit and gentle smoke.
