A Midwinter Night's Dram Act 14 is a blend of straight rye whiskeys, aged four to ten years, made by High West Distillery in Utah to mark its 20th anniversary. It is bottled non-chill-filtered at 49.3% (98.6 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The base is Rendezvous Rye, which combines MGP rye with High West's own pot-still rye. The series usually finishes in Ruby and Tawny Port casks, and this edition adds Amontillado, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The nose is described as wild strawberries, berry preserves, singed apple, honeycomb and sandalwood. On the palate come blood orange, cherry fruit leather, plum, quince, coffee and toasted hazelnuts, and the finish is rich, with berry preserves, pastry and rye spice.
