High West A Midwinter Night's Dram Limited Engagement

A Midwinter Night's Dram is a limited edition blend of straight rye whiskeys from High West Distillery. It marries a six year old rye made from 95% rye and 5% malted barley with a sixteen year old rye made from 80% rye, 10% corn and 10% barley malt. After blending, the whiskey was finished in French oak and in port barrels. The rye provides a base of vanilla, caramel and cinnamon, the port barrels add plums and dried fruits, and the French oak brings a spice accent. Overall it is likened to Christmas plum pudding with mulling spices, dried fruits and crème anglaise.
