High West Double Rye is a blend of straight rye whiskeys aged between 2 and 7 years, from Utah.
One component is made from 95% rye and 5% malted barley and comes from MGP. The other is 80% rye and 20% malted rye, distilled by High West itself.
The nose is mint, clove, cinnamon, liquorice root, pine nuts and dark chocolate, with gin-like botanicals throughout. Rye spice leads the palate, then menthol, mint and eucalyptus, and the finish turns gradually sweeter with cinnamon, mint and a hint of anise.
